A Time For Sharing And Giving

Thankful count the ways

We can finally breathe. After eight years of being insulted, deceived, mistreated, unjustly reviled and maligned the Eagle will soon be able to soar to new heights again. The abuser is moving out, but somehow I think he’ll be lurking around corners waiting for an opportunity to pounce.

Most of the abuse has been psychological with wounds that may not be visible to the naked eye. Just like in a home, victims of psychological abuse can be of any age or gender. This form of abuse is often difficult to prove. It includes threatening the victim with violence, harassing them at home, outside the home, at school or work, denying the victim access to others (e.g., refusing to allow the victim to see friends, preventing use of the telephone), confining the victim to home or area, destroying or taking the victim’s property. Many abusers will arrange it so that his victims are totally dependent upon the abuser, making it very difficult for the victim to move out. Many abusers will arrange it so that all money and services are controlled by the abuser.

After eight years of abuse fewer people have their homes, their health, or jobs. Black Friday was more like Bleak Friday.

After eight years of abuse the number of suicides is up. Twenty two Veterans a day alone are completing suicide.

We can finally breathe again. The new guy loves the Eagle and is preparing to restore the Eagle’s habitat and make the Eagle great again. The new guy is going about the business of building bridges with various people, some of whom bitterly opposed him. The new guy is refusing his salary and is working for free. The new guy is leading by example, giving and sharing.

We may not have much, but we can dust ourselves off and work with our neighbors to restore the Eagle’s habitat. The task is yuge and may appear to be overwhelming for some. You’ll be surprised how much we can accomplish and how quickly we can accomplish it by working together.

Sometimes overwhelming feelings rise up within us or we face difficult experiences: relational conflict, chronic illness, failure, job loss, and rejection to name a few. When a big problem presents itself, it is tempting to curl into a ball and allow worry to consume us mentally and physically. The best way to overcome the overwhelming tasks is to start working on completing the task. Instead of focusing on the mountain before you focus on pebbles in front of you. As you begin working on the task you will find that you begin to heal from the eight years of abuse.

Christmas is fast coming upon us. May I suggest a gift that will keep on giving, the gift of self sharing time with your neighbors to pitch in to restore the Eagle’s habitat? The life you save may be your own.

  2. Oh Lord, I thank the Holy Spirit for letting you share this message in a timely manner for me to share with my daughter and grandchildren. Mental abuse for 9 years need to die. I don’t mind sacrificing the 4K plus to move it out of my family’s life, singing get behind me Satan all the way to court. I pity people who don’t know God, but use His name as a crutch to threaten others. I know this is personal, but the Holy Spirit led me to share after reading this post. I have such JOY in my heart I haven’t had in years for my daughter. Amen. Amen. Amen.

    • Thank you for sharing your comments and experience.

It is my pleasure to let the Holy Spirit lead. I am happy that you have removed the abuse and found the true joy for your daughter.

It really is a pity that everyone does know God, they just don’t know what they are missing.

  3. Truly thankful for the privilege of trusting Jesus with all of my days 🙂 Here in Canada, so many of us are in support of Trump’s presidential win! And although Hillary’s side still appears to be having a tough time accepting the fair-and-square results, God heard and will always hear our prayers and has the final say! Now hoping in prayer that God will use Trump to spank some sense into a few of OUR arrogant “leaders” who seem to be on a mission to destroy Canada! :-/ 💜 Jackie@KWH

    • I am also thankful for Trump’s win. I think it is a wakeup call for people and nations to turn back to God. Just as Obama helped led people and nations against God, I believe it is Trump who will lead people and nations back to God. I hope and pray Canada’s arrogant ‘leaders’ will turn to God. Sometimes God uses bad leaders to accomplish His mission Gen 50:20

      • Yup… so thankful for one more wake-up call before the final rude awakening! God can definitely use bad leaders according to His will… So ‘guess I ought to stop looking at the wake of destruction and focus/pray more diligently for Trump and Canada’s top 4 wannabe dictatorial politicians—Justin Trudeau (puppet prime minister), Christy Clarke (premier of BC), Kathleen Wynne (premier of Ontario) and Rachel Notley (premier of Alberta). 💜 Jackie@KWH

        • I join you in prayer for the leaders and that God use them according to His plan. We prayed for and suffered through Obama and were rewarded with Trump.

        • Indeed, the Obama years took a hefty toll 😦 Until last October, Canada was so blessed by solid leadership with our Honourable Prime Minister Stephen Harper at the helm 🙂 Unfortunately, the mainstream media hated him and loved/loves the incompetent JT! Now they’ve succeeded in getting their guy elected and EVERYthing is “suddenly” upside-down and Satan has obviously been pulling those strings 😡

Yet ‘though the storms rage all around us… this battle is already won by God who is in sovereign control, hears our prayers for protection from evil and promised to never leave us. So just like Peter, we need to keep our focus on Jesus to keep from sinking! 🙂 💜 Jackie@KWH

        • Yes, let’s keep our focus on Jesus. I like to remind people God said he would bring us through…not around the storms of like.
